Sea Tours Depart from Kona's Honokohau Harbor on Big Island Only
Hawaiian Spinner Dolphins are very predictable in areas along the Kona Coast. They can most always be found slipping through Kailua Bay, Kiholo Bay, Ho'ona Bay, and Makalawena. The reef adventures offered here are fun for the whole family, easy and safe. The difference in price above comes from amenities offered and time on the water. This tour highlights the simple pleasure of snorkeling off shore from well crewed boats in the crystal clear, warm waters of Hawaii. Boats depart Honokohau Harbor in the morning. Tour lasts between 9-1pm. No Experience Necessary Top Quality Snorkel Gear and Flotation Devices Included Lunch Snacks Drinks Provided Underwater Camera Photography Arranged
Manta Night Encounter $79-$95
This is not a scary as it seems, just dramatic. After a scenic sunset boat ride to the manta location, a well trained crew will instruct you about your manta encounter. Underwater lights set the stage for these gentle giants to glide gracefully toward the surface and feast on plankton attracted to the lights. THESE MANTAS DO NOT BITE OR STING. On the contrary, these big guys have been conditioned to return to the site to the extent that everyone knows'em by distinctive markings and name! "Vinny", "Blaine", "Sugar Ray", and "Big Bertha" look forward to putting on quite a show for you. If Steve Irwin had restricted his enthusiasm to Kona he might be still making TV shows... Depart Honokohau Harbor before sunset. Adventure times 6pm-9pm. No Experience Necessary Top Quality Wet Suits, Snorkel Gear, Flotation Devices, Dive Lights Provided Snacks Drinks Provided Underwater Camera Photography Arranged Scuba Dive Gear (BCD/Regulator) Available for Rent

The Big Island of Hawaii's western shores provide world class sport fishing. Mauna Loa and Mauna Kea shield the leeward side from prevailing trade winds which in turn allows fishing for large fish in relatively calm waters. Additionally, the sea floor just offshore of Kona drops significantly. You can catch Ahi (Yellowfin Tuna), Mahi Mahi (Dorado), Ono (Wahoo), Aku (Skipjack Tuna), Kahala (Amberjack) and six different kinds of Billfish. Of course the sought after Blue Marlin runs all year. Fishing styles include trolling lures (probably Kona's most popular), but live bait and bottom fishing are also options. Keep in mind many large fish can be caught off the ledges and bottom such as Amberjack or even Shark. For the price Captain Rupert offers a 4 hour charter aboard the "Lil’ Steamer" - a fast and safe 32’ fishing vessel. She comfortably holds 6 passengers plus Captain Rupert and crew. Think about splitting total cost between 6 people to reduce the per/person cost.
